Little Creek Preschool is an activity of The Family Center which is a small non-profit, non-sectarian organization dedicated to nurturing the whole child in a culturally diverse environment. Begun in 1996 in northern Durham, we have developed a unique, child centered and family friendly early childhood experience with a commitment to the very best practices in early education.
We have an engaging indoor and outdoor space which allows children to safely explore their interests and develop positive social and emotional skills with their peers. In addition, literacy, math, science and arts activities are the foundations of School Readiness and we follow NC Foundations for Early Learning (FELD), the official guidelines for DPI. Our children learn through an emergent curriculum where topics and ideas are driven by the interests and excitement of the children. Skilled teachers build on the children's internal motivations to promote development across all the domains of readiness for life and school success.

One, Two, Three, Four or Five Mornings/week options!
To support each families' individualized need for early care and education, we offer part time options of one through five morning options based on a commitment to the same days for a period of 3 months.
We have rolling, open enrollment for children who are three and four years old, as space is available. The preschool operates year round Monday - Friday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
